Walter Mazzarri unsure over his Napoli future; Del Neri concedes Europa League chances
Mazzarri unsure over his future with Azzurri
Napoli manager, Walter Mazzarri, is still uncertain over his future despite leading the club to a third place finish in the Serie A. The Azzurri will return to UEFA Champions League football after a 21-year absence in the Europe’s most elite competition.
Napoli have had a brilliant season and challenged for the Scudetto consistently throughout the campaign.
The tactician refused to answer a question over his future with the club and insisted that he will conduct a press conference after holding discussions with the Board.
Talking to the reporters, Mazzarri said, “This journey has been going for two years now and after talking to the club I will go into the press room and say what needs to be said. Quite aside from personal rapport, we are professionals and have to be clear
at the end of every season on where we are going in future.”
The Italian thanked the fans and the boardroom staff for creating a sense of harmony at the club, which helped the players to achieve their season’s objectives.
Luigi Del Neri downbeat of his team’s UEFA Europa League chances
Juventus manager, Luigi Del Neri, is gutted with his team’s 1-0 loss to Parma on Sunday and admitted that only a miracle can help his side to qualify for UEFA Europa League 2011/12.
Juve are currently placed 7th on the league table and with only one match left to play in the league, they have slim chances of qualifying for Europa League.
"Barring a miracle, we’re out of Europe, but it hasn’t been decided in this penultimate match," Del Neri said on the club's official website.
However, the 60-year-old has insisted that there are no excuses for poor performances of his team as they were inconsistent and below-par throughout the season. The manager added that the club underwent several changes in the summers and the hardships that
the club is currently facing were inevitable.
Juventus will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the last match of the league and Del Neri is hoping to finish the season on a high.
