Walter Sabatini confirms Nilmar talks; Cicinho not worried with contract situation: Serie A news
A.S Roma Sporting Director, Walter Sabatini, has admitted that the Giallorossi are in talks with Villarreal over the signing of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nilmar-c28044 but a deal is far from close.
The Brazilian international has been touted as an ideal replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mirko-Vucinic-c26024, who left the Stadio Olimpico Rome to join Juventus this summer. Sabatini confirmed that the two clubs are still locked in negotiations and are far from agreeing a deal as yet.
The Yellow Submarine are reportedly demanding a fee in the region of €20-24 million but Roma are willing to offer amount close to €16m.
The Giallorossi chief praised the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573 striker and is hoping that a deal will go through in the next few days.
Talking to the reporters Sabatini said, “He is a Villarreal player and an excellent player. How far away are we? It’s what stands between us and the place we need to be. In other words, there’s a big distance between us.”

On the other hand, right-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cicinho-c9251 is not worried about his contract situation at the Stadio Olimpico Rome and wants to play an important role at Rome.
The Brazilian admitted that his agent is in talks with the club chief, Sabatini, and hopes to earn a renewal in the next few days.
"When will I sign a renewal? I don't know, but my agent is still talking about it. We're waiting. It is not true that I've never spoken to [Roma sporting director Walter] Sabatini. My agent has spoken to him. I'm working, I'm happy and this is what's important."
The former Real Madrid star has not had the best of times of late and has spent the last two season’s on-loan with Sao Paoulo and Villarreal respectively.
