  1. I think with waltz/loop it's a timing thing.  Waltz jump is not the problem in most cases - it's not knowing exactly when to jump the loop after the waltz.

Practice a lot of loops by itself before you do waltz/loop.  Having strong single jumps will only help when you do them in combination.

    Do a waltz jump.

Land with the free leg in front.

Instead of freely putting your arms out like when you land in a single waltz, set up for loop immediately with one arm in front and the other slightly back (checking). (the timing:  free leg and arm go in front at the same time like a puppet with strings).

Your landing leg is now the take off leg.

That landing back outside edge is now your back outside edge entrance for your loop.

Use that knee bend in your landing to set up for the loop.

HOLD that back outside edge a wee bit longer (this is the part where some are not sure when to jump).

When you can no longer hold it, that's when you jump.

In combo jumps, strive for "even" jumps throughout.  A big first jump with the next ones becoming more like hiccups makes it look like you're losing steam.  Do a smaller waltz jump (for now) until you find the timing for loop . . . and then practice getting both jumps equally strong.

    Hope that helps!!

  2. when u land ur waltz, keep ur free leg infront of u so u can do a loop.
