Wang Chi, Tzu Chieh prevail in group stage of Asia Youth U-19 Championships – Badminton news

Men’s Doubles partners Wang Chi Lin and Tien Tzu Chieh forged a fruitful chemistry in group stage of 100 Plus Badminton Asia Youth U-19 and registered their first win on July 8, 2013.
They locked horns with the twosome of Liu Yuchen and Li Junhui who resisted for 42 minutes in the local badminton arena of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Both teams remained head-to-head for three gruelling sets and finished this showdown with a nerve-racking
result of 13-21, 21-18 and 15-21.
It was a group C match between China and Chinese Taipei and both pairs made this a memorable contest by putting a splendid show of badminton skills.
In first set of the match, the partnership of Chi Lin and Tzu Chieh looked in prime touch as both shuttlers did not give the opposing team enough time to get settled and confounded them with an intensive attack.
They mounted pressure by claiming back-to-back points in the establishing rallies and then doubled the impact by putting a mountainous figure of 11. After the mid-game break, Chi Lin and Tzu Chieh injected more intensity in their attack and wrapped this
segment of the showdown with a winning figure of 21-13.
However, they could not go with same flow in the following game. The opposing duo relished full benefits of their below par performance and levelled the match score with an impressive strike.
The Chinese shuttlers did not repeat the previous mistakes and played with great precision from the first stroke till the last shot. Liu Yuchen and Li Junhui showed their intentions straight away in the beginning and bagged many points without any interruption.
They kept on moving forward at a steady pace and won this crucial game with a decent lead in the final figure of 21-18.
The decider was expected to be a tough trial of both team’s mental and physical fitness but the Taipei shuttlers made it a dead contest in latter part of the game. Chi Lin and Tzu Chieh enjoyed an upper hand throughout this set and registered their victory
by piling up a favourable total of 21-15.
