Wang Lin beats Chloe Magee in Women’s Singles qualifying round – French Open Update
Women’s Singles shuttler Wang Lin started her campaign in perfect manner by stamping Chloe Magee in the qualifying round of Yonex French Badminton Open on October 23, 2012.
This 31-minute tussle took place in local badminton arena of Paris and both shuttlers entertained the crowd while piling up final figures of 21-17 and 21-18.
The Chinese female campaigner Wang Lin performed exceptionally well in both games and sent her Irish competitor packing by sealing a straight-set victory.
Now she will swing arms against the winner of a match between Tse Ying Suet and Perrine Le Buhanic in second stage of the qualifying round.
Wang Lin will utilise the valuable confidence, which she has gained through an impressive knock in the opening match, to ensure her presence in the main draw of this Super Series.
She looked in prime touch throughout that tussle as the opposing shuttler could not find any loop-hole and surrendered.
The battle heated up in very first set as Wang Lin launched a brisk attack and confined her rival in rear court with a series of power packed strokes.
She did not show mercy and placed a mountainous figure of 11 in no time. This initial lead played a vital role in her dominance in second half of the set as Chloe Magee could not come out of this deficit until game point situation.
Wang Lin strengthened her grip with 18-7 and then served the notice of her supremacy with an overwhelming score of 21-17.
However, second set proved a tough trail of their mental and physical strength as they challenged each other in all areas of the game and made this tie a memorable contest.
The Chinese player was bit sluggish in the beginning as she could not move swiftly across the court and dropped many valuable points.
Chloe Magee relished full benefits of her opponent’s blunders and established her grip with a constant progress on the points table.
The Irish lady was in commanding position with a figure of 13 when Wang Lin tipped the scale in her favour with 15-13. She maintained this rhythm and raised hands as victor after putting 21-18 score on the board.
