Wang Shun conquers Men’s 200m butterfly heats – FINA Swimming World Cup, Beijing
Wang Shun of China conquered the preliminary rounds of Men’s 200m butterfly on first day of the sixth stop of FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup in Beijing, China on Friday, November 2, 2012.
Shun showed no mercy to his opponents in the distant butterfly discipline and transpired on the finishing blockade as top fastest swimmer.
Shun remained in a comfortable lead over his strongest opponent as he rushed his way towards the finishing blockade for top position with an effort of 1 minute and 55.79 seconds.
Her exhausting effort remained 2.01 seconds ahead of Kazuya Kaneda of Japan, who followed him on the finishing blockade as second best finisher by reporting a time of 1 minute and 57.80 seconds.
The second best qualifying swimmer was traced by Christopher Wright of Australia, who was 0.39 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and surfaced on the wall as second best finisher with a timing of 1 minute and 58.19 seconds.
Wright was trailed by Zhijie Xu, who was 0.55 seconds slower from his former finisher and entered the playoff as fourth fastest swimmer with a timing of 1 minute and 58.74 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Yanqing Fu, who remained 1.09 seconds slower from his toughest challenger and emerged on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 59.83 seconds.
Subsequently, Fu was traced by Frederico Castro of Brazil, who stayed 0.04 seconds behind and ended his race in sixth best place by producing a time of 1 minute and 59.87 seconds.
Castro was chased by Guixu Zhong, who suffered a loss of only 0.33 seconds from his preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 00.20 seconds for seventh place.
Eighth best qualification spot of the race was obtained by Ji s**+, who remained only 0.21 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall as eighth best finisher by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 00.41 seconds.
In addition, Wang was overjoyed with his fastest finish in the event and said that he would try hard to dominate the playoff and secure the title.
