China’s Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang F joined hands in Women’s Doubles event of Djarum Indonesia Open and successfully marched to the final round on Saturday, June 15, 2013.
They locked horns with a compatriot duo Ma Jin-Tang Jinhua in local badminton arena of Jakarta. Both teams spent 42 minutes on court before concluding this tussle with a final result of 21-18 and 21-16.
The twosome of Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang relished full benefits of their unbeatable run in this prestigious tournament and sealed a splendid straight-set victory. Meanwhile, the opposing team failed to rise in front of the higher
ranked duo and crashed out of the event in a woeful manner.
The top seeded Chinese duo started the beating straight away in the beginning of first set and kept on playing aggressively all the way to game point situation. Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang piled up a decent total in no time and the
capitalised this early advantage in next couple of rallies.
They finished first half of the set with a respectable total and started the latter part of game with a psychological edge. Though, they lost focus for a short span of time and allowed the opposing shuttlers to proceed on points
table.
However, Wang and Yu Yang managed to reinstate their dominance when it mattered and wrapped this showdown with a favourable score of 21-18.
The following game was also played in similar manner as Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua could come out of their rivals’ influence and surrendered tamely.
On the other hand, the victorious duo of previous set showed consistency in its performance and sealed a straight-set victory. The partnership of Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang looked at its best in the establishing rallies as both shuttlers
completely ruled the court.
They did not give their challengers even a single chance to proceed and sent them packing with a staggering knock. The spirited Chinese duo finished first half of the set with a mountainous figure of 11 and then locked the honour
with 21-16 total.
Now they will face another compatriot pair Bao Yixin-Cheng Shu in the title match of Indonesia Open.
