Wang Xiaoli and Yang (F) Yu win Women’s Doubles crown at the Indonesia Open Premier Super Series
China’s Wang Xiaoli and Yang (F) Yu proved their worth, as they clinched the Women’s Doubles crown after beating Vita Marissa and Nadya Melati of Indonesia in the final of the Indonesia Open Premier Super Series 2011, in Indonesia, on Sunday, June 26.
World Number One and top seed pair, Xiaoli and Yang, took only 27 minutes to crush the Indonesian pair on their home soil. It was a completely one-sided final, where the Chinese duo easily defeated the Indonesians in straight-sets, without any trouble.
In the first game, the Chinese pair quickly established their dominance in the match by playing a flawless game against the shaky Indonesians. Xiaoli and Yang played quite freely without taking any pressure of the crowd, who was supporting the Indonesian
duo.
The speed of the game was very fast as both sides were playing aggressive badminton to get high clears for playing attacking strokes. The Chinese pair was successful in putting pressure on their local rivals and reached 11-6, at the interval.
After the one-minute break, Xiaoli and Yang continued to score points without any interval, as their opponents were making many errors in the game. The Chinese pair finished off the opening set by a wonderful margin of 21-12, in just 15 minutes.
In the second game, the Indonesian pair tried to employ different tactics, but they failed to stop the aggressive run of the Chinese shuttlers, who were playing with precision. Their perfect stroke placement at the net earned them a considerable advantage
over the Indonesians, who failed to produce better speed at the net.
The Chinese pair was rushing towards their destination without facing any resistance from their challengers, who were struggling to control the pace of the rallies. Xiaoli and Yang won the game with a stunning 21-10 margin, by taking only 12 minutes.
The Chinese shuttlers finished-off the final match in 27 minutes, by winning it in tremendous fashion with a 21-12 and 21-10 score on the board.
