Wang Xin thrashes Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in first round contest at Badminton Asia Championships
China’s Wang Xin delivered an inspiring performance when she thrashed Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in Women’s Singles first round contest at Badminton Asia Championships 2012 in China, on Wednesday, April 18.
Xin has been placed at number 2 in the world rankings and is also second seed in Women’s Singles draw of Asia Championships. She found no resistance at all from her Thai opponent and eased into the second round with a convincing fashion.
The higher ranked Chinese lady was in full swing in her opening encounter and bagged it in straight games with a comprehensive margin.
On the other hand, Porntip could not compete well as she was lacking the speed and power in her play and lost the contest without making a strong impact.
Xin has been playing remarkable game for the last one year and has also clinched many titles in major tournaments.
She continued her impressive performance in her opening match in Asia Championships and proved that she has achieved elite skills of the game.
In the first set, Xin played with precision from starting points and remained successful in taking an impressive lead without facing any strong resistance from her Thai opponent.
In the meanwhile, Porntip failed to dominate the pace and remained in trouble as her opponent was flawless in the execution of strokes.
Until the mid-game interval, Xin remained on track and managed an impressive gap on the board.
After the break, Xin continued her killing play without dropping her speed at any stage. She was in her prime form and easily took the first game with an impressive 21-11 margin on the board.
In the second set, Porntip again failed to match the speed of her higher ranked Chinese opponent and remained miles behind until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Xin remained positive as she did not commit any mistake and also spared no chance for Porntip to take charge of the game. She took the second set with a thrilling fashion by a striking margin of 21-9.
Xin bagged this Women’s Singles contest in 29 minutes with a stunning 21-11 and 21-9 margin on the score board.
