Wang sisters duo treads into main round of Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2012
The American female shuttlers Iris Wang and Rena Wang continued their success story in Women’s doubles event and trod into main round of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold on March 13, 2012.
The female duo stamped the British female couple Jenny Wallwork-Gabrielle White with a decisive 2-1 lead.
Both teams kept scorers busy for three sets and 62 minutes to display the final score sheet of 21-10, 13-21 and 24-22 scores.
World Number 32 couple Iris Wang-Rena Wang set the ball rolling and clinched first match point with a notable 21-10 lead on the score board. Their opponents Wallwork-Gabrielle was no comparison as the Wang sisters did not give them even a single chance to
rise after they scored 10 points on the board.
However, the story was entirely different in the following set as female couple Wallwork-Gabrielle managed to stand firm against the American invasion.
They forged a good chemistry to storm back in the match by rising from 0-1 loss to 1-1 match score position. The British ladies unveiled their prime skills to place a decisive margin of 21-13 on the board.
The furious backlash from the World Number 38 pair Wallwork-Gabrielle brought life into the match as both teams were now at the same level with 1-1 match score. The spectators were expecting a full on battle in the decider and their thirst was filled as
both contenders put all they had to seal the victory.
The third and final set of the match turned into nerve-racking tussle as the duo of Iris Wang and Rena Wang was inches away from the victory but their challengers stopped them from scoring the game point.
However, Wallwork-Gabrielle could not keep them away from a crucial win and bowed down after receiving a final blow of 24-22 third set score.
The victorious Wang sisters earned their right to be in the main round and now they are scheduled to face the Chinese duo Bao Yixin-Qianxin Zhong in the first round of the main draws of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2012.
