Wankhede Stadium of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 receives No Objection Certificate from authorities to allow play
The Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, which is hosting three matches of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011, has been given clearance by the fire department on Tuesday. The stadium was redesigned and renovated for the World Cup, but certain issues were still under
progress. Last week, the safety inspectors went to review the ground, but were sadly disappointed, as the main fire equipment and water hydrants, alarms and extinguishers were not properly installed.
Recently, the Mumbai fire department has fixed all the pending fire equipment and other major sanitary issues. The fire department officials have declared the ground clear, safe and ready for the upcoming World Cup matches.
They said, "We have given an NOC (no objection certificate) to the stadium. They have fulfilled all the fire safety norms at the stadium," deputy chief fire officer A N http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shinde-c90027 said.
The huge and historic Wankhede stadium was established in 1974. After its renovation, the seating arrangement has been increased from 33,500 to 38,000 persons. The number of exit doors has increased and went up to 11, as the restrooms and toilets have been
redesigned for multiple people, so that the ladies and kids would not have to wait in long queues. 57 new air-conditioned boxes have been constructed for chief guests and VIPs.
Three huge replay screens have been installed around the stadium for a clear look. The players will be facilitated with some nice dressing rooms, which have balcony and huge bath and shower, attached with it. Glasses have been placed on southern side of
the pitch to give a clear picture of the game while sitting in the comfort if their rooms. Huge and spacious media boxes have been constructed for journalists and photographers.

on 27 February, 2011.
