  1. although you cannot refuse any of your invited guests from attending your wedding when not wearing your recommend attire, you can put a note on the bottom of the invitation.

Here is an example for you:

John Smith and Jane Doe, along with their parents, respectfully request your attendance as they join in marriage on August 22, 2009, etc., etc.

at the bottom left corner you usually have:

    coctails:  5pm

    dinner:  5pm

dance to follow - reception location

on the right side of the invitation you could have:

it is requested by the bride and goom that female guests attend in formal attire and male guests attend in white long sleeve guayabera

    good luck

  2. Wow, good luck with that.  Personally, I think it's incredibly tacky to request that people wear something like that to your wedding and I just wouldn't go.

  3. The only way to really put a dress code on the invitation without offending anyone is, "Formal attire suggested." That way, people don't feel like they HAVE to wear anything (kind of like, don't boss people around, you know), but because you're nice about it, they'll go out of their way to make you happy.

I would simply put, "Formal Latin attire is suggested" and leave it at that. You can have your wedding p arty and parents spread the word that you'd love to see everyone in guayaberas and such, but you can't force it, unfortunately.

But if you're polite about it, most people will not mind, especially since you're not asking everyone to come dressed as a clown or something.

  4. wow um all you can do is say it

  5. Maybe something like Latin Formal Dress?

  6. What you can do is get a different kind of paper and type the attire that you will like everyone to wear on it.  Cut it out and insert it in every invitation that you sent out.  That way you can put everything that you like on the invitation and still be able to include what you want everyone to wear without ruining the invitations.  Good Luck.
