  1. Check into xerascaping. That's pretty much gardening with an eye towards natrual and local vegetation that requires minimal inputs. Less or no watering, less or no fertilizer, less or no mowing, less or no weeding, etc.

You can also start a greenhouse (or work at one) and sell your products locally (or work at one). If you sell food locally (or even flowers), then they don't have to be shipped from far away (less energy) and you can do so in ways that use minimal or no negative products, etc.

You could start a community garden and encourage others to participate. Again less energy to move products around.

You could become a farmer. All the same reasons.

You could get into forestry - silviculture. Again all the same reasons.

Remember that you can make your own employment and you don't have to rely on others to make it for you. Start your own company and you will never have to use the word resume again (unless you are answering a yahoo question...)

Apply with landscaping companies, check with the federal govt or local govts, check into local farms etc.

Include relivant experience or education on your resume. Somehow give the impression that you are trying to break into this profession and that you are will to work very hard and do whatever it takes. Make yourself look like an asset not a burden.

  2. I suggest you start with your local public or college library. Look for a good job description and college courses. Also see in the library the government's Occupational Outlook Handbook which contains job descriptions, skills, and job outlook. It is a wonderful field where you can learn the trade as a volunteer and move your way up into a paying job. Good luck.

  3. Try emplyement ctre. Look on workopolis, apply at your municipality, try all sort of business, hospitals for outside gardening. Tim Hortons, think all kind of places after making a good c.v. and make copies. Good luck to you, good thinking!
