  1. it does not matter how good gas mileage you will get, eventually only the rich will be able to afford gasoline. staying ahead of the pack will mean that you should look into a "plug-in" car (electric), you may have to pay a little more upfront but in the long run you will be able to laugh at all those poor people that are spending $100.00 to fill their "tanks" (pun intended), Mitsubishi is introducing a nice reliable plug in car in 2009, the Fiskar brand of cars also has a very cool plug in car, it is a little pricey but you will most likely be the envy of your town if you decide to look into that. good luck!-blurey

  2. Honda Accord and Corolla.  Nissan Altima and Sentra. Real good cars and last forever.  Whether you are buying new or used be sure to educate yourself, otherwise you will be scammed with the second most expensive investment you will ever make. Work a cash deal by getting loan first. Check lendingtree.com, eloan.com, capitalone.com for the best lender resources. If you have good credit, go to roadloans.com or drivetime.com. Do your homework on the car you want. Know the invoice price minus rebates and/or manufacturers incentives before you negotiate.  Truth is, dealerships get kick-backs on all kinds of things, including a higher interest rate they can sell you (even if you qualify for a lower interest rate!).

I actually collect sports and exotic cars and get all my cars at least 40% off retail.  In fact, before I learned Dr. Suzanne’s method - I got royally screwed three times at the dealerships.  Her site is: http://www.cartopsecret.com it is the best info you will ever learn about buying cars.  Just the tip of the iceberg is how to take advantage of rebates, hidden manufacture/dealer incentives, financing tricks, trade-in tips.  I'm serious; if you go into a dealership without this knowledge - you are in for it; they will make you feel like you got a great deal when in reality you got seriously ripped off.

  5. I can't speak for every honda or civic.  But my 94 Civic has 187K miles and it runs like new.  It also gets 41 MPG.

Very dependable.  I drove it from NYC to Chicago and back (1600 miles in 2 days).

Sadly the newer civic are heavier and they barely get 30 MPG on the HWY.  The older Civic got better mileage from the factory.

    Good Luck...

  6. Here you should go with a Honda. Any Honda. I recommend an Accord or Civic.

    Good luck!
