I was born in 1985 - July 4th.

My sun sign is Cancer, my Moon sign is Aquarian and my Rising is Capricorn.

I'm irresponsible, a complete dreamer, and have suffered from mild to severe depression for many years now. How much of this is induced by the signs that rule me?

Also, what sort of a person is a combination of these signs??

You have suffered mild to severe depression due to a chemical imbalance in your brain.  This is probably also what causes the irresponsibility. People who are depressed often let their responsibilities and daily routines go.

Since you didn't give a birth time and location (which would help me narrow things down but isn't completely necessary because the general idea is there)...I'm guessing your birth time was somewhere around 8pm-9pm central standard time.  Most likely it is closer to 8pm...considering what you've divulged about your personality.

A Capricorn Rising is prone to lengthy depressions.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn (the planet of restriction and hard-knock reality).  So, your ruling planet (because it rules your Ascendant) is Saturn.  I suggest reading up on your ruling planet...get a feel for Saturn's good side and not just his bad side.  Once you understand both sides of the coin, it will be easier for you to rise above the hardships that are always at the beginning of a Saturn-ruled life.  Such obstacles are karmic constructions that will make your goals hard-earned and satisfying in the long run.  And...it will be a long run, sorry to say.  Most people who are so influenced by this planet don't see the results they yearn for until later in life...usually after they've turned thirty.  I'm right there with you...although not ruled by Saturn (just heavy Saturn aspects), my early life has not been sucessful or even easy.  But, like the goat climbing the mountain (Capricorn's image), you just have to keep yourself steady up those rocks, Rocksann!  The rewards years from now (when you reach the peak of that painfully daunting mountain) will be worth the worn-out and discouraging years you endured to make it where you need to be.

Take another look at your ruling planet, Saturn in Scorpio.  Not only is he in an opposition with your very lucky Venus in Taurus (doubly beneficial because she rules Taurus)...he's also in an a pretty telling opposition with your North Lunar Node in Taurus.  This means Saturn is in a conjunction (an aspect which shares two energies as one) with your South Lunar Node (a karmic point that some astrologers liken to Saturn).  

The South Node tends to represent those ways and experiences that you know all too well, fall back into, or find unhealthy comfort in keeping.  It's those things about yourself that you may not be proud of but that you find hard to shake because they seem an undeniable part of you.  Some astrologers believe that these things are learned in another life and carried over into this one, and that, in order to progress in this life you must step out of that already-mastered comfort zone and work on developing the opposite behaviors (represented by your North Node in Taurus).

You also asked what sort of person is a combination of your main three natal points.  With just those three in consideration, you are naturally the type who keeps to themselves...even though you love others more than yourself.  Your Cancer Sun makes you moody but with strong ties to friends and family and your Aquarius Moon makes you friendly but still feeling like a lone wolf even amongst the family and friends you acquire.  You're a bit of a contradiction in many different ways.  Your Capricorn Rising shows you as a strong and often serious-minded person to others (a first impression which is further backed-up by your cardinal Sun and fixed Moon).  With nothing else but these three considered, you have the general makeup of someone who could grow quite powerful as they mature through life.  These three make for an altruistic leader who deeply cares for humanity as a whole (especially the underdogs).

hmmm.. lemme see... this irresponsibility stems from your personality , it has nothing to do with your stars. if u feel that you are on the wrong side you must take initiative to come to the correct side.

astrologicaly it is slightly because of your aquarian moon, they are careless, recless and big time dreamers. your depressions are because of your capricorn rising as it is a melonchy sign, but your sun is a cancer so you might be an emmotional person.

astrology cannot compel you to be like somthing itz just a lamp used to review yourself. IT CANNOT DEFINE YOUR DESTINY!!. so go out and make a plan f what you wish to achieve in the next few years and dget up and do the actions to make those plans work. dont sit there and wish that your fairy godmother will come and make things right.

no place of birth and no birth time..the data given rising sign,mon sign &sunsign has no meaning for deliniation as wether they are from western or vedic horoscopes -bcz normally about a sign difference would be there btwen both. question may be re designed

Well, it's kind of a loaded question considering the information that you've given, but there are a couple of factors at play here. First of all, Cancer sun is sensitive and emotional. Aqua moon however is not, nor is Capricorn ascendant. So at heart, you're really a very emotion driven person, but you find yourself analyzing your emotions in a rather detached way as soon as you feel them rather than allowing yourself to just feel and express them, which has to be exhausting for a Cancer sun person. Further, your Capricorn ascendant would dictate that you're the type of person who's fairly reserved in their self expression. You don't like causing a scene, you like to appear rather businesslike and in control of your environment. Your sun is in the opposing sign to your ascendant, which says that the way you present yourself is actually....well, in opposition to the person that you really are. Between Aqua moon (which could very well be in your first house of self), and Capricorn rising, you find yourself either unable to fully express your emotional nature as freely as you'd like, or you tend to look down on yourself and beat yourself up a bit when you do tend to have outbursts of emotion.

The clincher as far as the depression goes though, is Neptune, which would have been in Capricorn at the time of your birth, so is in your 12th house at the very least, and could very well be conjunct your ascendant. Neptune rules illusion, spirituality, empathy, idealism, dreams, and depression among other things. It rules the 12th house, so if your Neptune happens to be in the 12th, then there's extra emphasis on the strength of that planet right there. If it's also conjunct your ascendant, that gives it more power in your birth chart. Capricorn ascendant isn't going to love the dreamy quality of Neptune, because Capricorn is more concerned with the physical reality of any given situaltion rather than spiritual or emotional realities involved. Capricorn wants something tangible that they can see and hold, it doesn't do as well with things which are not physically tangible. Aqua moon would rather use logic to understand emotions, it isn't all that comfortable with just allowing the self to "feel" things, Aqua moon needs to understand them.

But your Neptune and your Sun dictate that you need to be able to free yourself up enough to sometimes just daydream and feel whatever it is that you're going to feel without forcing it down or trying to explain it rationally. So the key for you I think is going to be discernment between what is valid emotional response and what is emotional over reaction to stimuli (which is possible if you've got first house moon) and then *allowing* yourself to feel things even though you don't always understand why you're feeling what you are. You don't need to be too stern or strict with your emotional expression. You've got Capricorn rising and Aquarius moon, if you're not repressing yourself emotionally, there's little likelihood that you're going to be the type of person to over react emotionally anyhow. And I'll bet that once you allow yourself this freedom, you'll find yourself a lot less depressed.
