Want more power from my 6 cylinder how can i get more power out of should i drop a v8 in it i would like to

it's a little more complicated than just putting an engine in. you have to swap computer systems, all the wiring, change exhaust, etc.  the trans should be just fine.  

It would be much cheaper and easier to buy a similar truck with a V8 already in it.

need more info. what kind of car do you have that you want to put an 88 vette motor in
