  1. I'd go with a Mossburg 500.  They are a well made gun but are priced at a very reasonable price.

  2. Mossberg, have the Maverick 88, 12 guage, works great, great price.

  3. Go with what EVERYBODY said, and get a Mossberg 500.

  4. Remington 870 pump or if you prefer a side-by-side consider the Stoeger coachgun.

  5. I would take the Remington 870 over the Mossberg 500 any day, but they are both decent guns. look for a machined receiver, as opposed to a stamped one. Don't get it from Wal-Mart what ever you do, they buy discount factory f**k-ups. If you're ever gonna use it for ducks get the 3 1/2 in. chamber since you'll have to use steel shot.

  6. Mossburg, Maverick, NEF, Stoeger. All are good units with out breaking the bank.

  7. What to look for? --- Reputation.... If your on a tight budget get a Mossberg 500. These shotguns are reliable, easy to use and fun to shoot..... The best part is they dont cost a fortune...

    Heres a Mossberg 500 Field Model # 50120 - about $275

A Mossberg 500 Police / home defense / security model # 50577 - This is what resides at my residence....

  8. I've always had a good deal with Mossberg, either model 500 or 88.

  9. Mossberg quality made at a reasonable price, rugged, dependable, smooth action, great shotgun.*
