The wife and I regularly holiday near Marbella. We are looking for something "different" to do on our next two week summer holiday. Any ideas?

  1. have you tried the nudists beaches up and down the coast.only kidding.benalmadena and surrounding areas have dolphin parks, zoos, croc parks.the blanket trips are not a bad idea if you don't mind sitting for half an hour listening to them waffle on but the trip is free.the lakes are beautiful, the caves in nerja are worth a look the cable cars in benalmadena are fine too as long as you get a clear day.

try this site it can prob help you find what you want to do

    www.visitcostadelsol.com

  2. I've just got back from Torremolinos and was suprised how nice in was.

Benelmadena was great and had a lovely harbour with VERY expensive boats tied up, so why not take a trip up there and check them out.

  3. why go back to the same place - go somewhere different.

  4. It is beautiful up near the lakes above the El Chorro gorge. Just driving through the gorge is well worth seeing.

You can visit the old historic town of Ronda. The road to Ronda is from San Pedro de Alcantara. If you would like to go for lunch at an idyllic hotel then north of Ronda is the Parque Natural de Grazelema. There is a village called Benaojon. There you will find a hotel called Molino del Santos. You will get an amazing lunch in a wonderful setting. Further down the road from Benaojon is the town of Jimena de la Frontera. Walk around the old village and up the steep hill to the castle. Jimena is actually in the mountains behimd Estepona.

Try a visit to Antequera. Whilst there you could visit the wolf Park (Parque de Lobos).

If you don't mind a long drive you could visit Jerez de la Frontera and see the Andalucian Equine show which is amazing to see. Whilst in Jerez you can visit a bodega to see how they make sherry and Spanish brandy. The tasting is always wonderful.

I'm only scratching the surface. There is so very much to see and do once you are away from the coast.

  5. Go and learn to sail.

  6. There are many theme parks now, visit the Selwo park/zoo....

Try a "howl" night at the Wolf Park, go trekking on horse back, short/long rides.

Take a short break over to Casablanca/Fez, or Portugal.

Go for a day trip to Madrid/Cordoba, on the new "bullet" train running from Malaga,

Hire a car, then head for the hills, eat in a typical country village, just come home when you have had enough.............

does this help you, also book someplace else other than Marbella, that is not the be all and end all spots on this coast, its the poshest/most expensive but not the best.
