  1. Contact the dealer & ask about the bike.He will tell you all about the bike.

  2. I second going to a bike shop.  They'll talk to you about where you plan to ride and what your specific needs are.  I just bought my first bike and am SO glad I went to a shop.  I ended up buying something I never would have thought of but I'm extremely happy with it.  I spent about $400.

  3. Instead of telling us what you don't want to spend why not tell us what your DO want to spend and what type of bike your thinking about getting etc? Bike shop is the way to go.

  4. The best way to go is to go to a few bike shops. Remember when you buy a bike you are establishing a relationship with the shop. Go somewhere that you feel comfortable and you trust the staff. Set your price range first. If you have your price range ahead of time you should (with the help of a knowledgeable salesman) be able to find the best bike for you in that price range. Remember you are also going to need some accessories: helmet; shoes; flat repair kit; and maybe some shorts.

Thoroughly decent bike, even has a rear rack.  It doesn't have a wet bar or a hot tub, though.
