It's for a male, about 188cm tall, 75kg (but buff), not that experienced. Also do you have to get all matching brands for the boots, bindings and board? For example does it all have to be Burton or could I get a K2 Board and have Burton boots and another brand bindings?

Thanks all good advice will be appreciated.

  1. Your best bet would to get him a gift card from a local board shop or internet shop.  There are too many factors to consider when buying a board.

  2. Well you definitely can not buy him the whole package as a gift, especially the boots!  the boots need to be tried on until he would find a perfect fit and just because someone is a size 12 shoe he might not be size 12 in a snowboard boot....

you can get all different brands of boots binding and board, you just have to make sure the bindings fit right on a board...

if you really want to get him this gift, you could probably get away with buying the board without his input.  I'm not sure how many lbs. 75 kg is but if u go to a shop, the people will be able to tell how long of a board you will need....but you also need his shoe size bevcause if he has large feet he needs a WIDE board....

the bindings are pretty universal, so i would say get the board with the bindings as a gift and leave the boots to him...

    good luck!

  3. i think it would be really hard to buy someone a board without them. there are so many factors when chosing a board.. i think you should say lets go to the store or mall or whatever then actually take them to your local shop and surprise them. it would be really hard if that person wasnt with you.

you dont have to get matching anything. you could have different brands for boots bindings and board. just beware that burton boards have the three hole binding set up rather than the normal four holes so watch out for that. salomon bindings and burton bindings are the ones that work on burton board without a special binding plate..

any boot would work..just need the right size bindings according to the boot.

so take a trip to your local boarding shop and you can ask all of your questions cause im sure you probably have more : )

(if you dont know of any shops in your area...go to burton.com and use their store locator)

    good luck buying!!!!
