Question:

Want to change....need advice??

So I hate everything about my life and want to change it.....I want to lose weight, change my personality to be more optimistic, you know the usual stuff, I just want to change everything.like be a new person. I start school in a couple of weeks so I want things I can change before then.

I'm not stupid and I know I'm not going to lose that much, if any, weight between now and then but I was wondering if I could get a bit more toned in that time. Also I was wondering how I could make my skin look good and get rid of or improve my acne. Also anything I could eat to make me feel less c**p and more healthy. I do 2-4 hours of exorcise a week so that's not a real problem.

I know, big question and it's alot to ask but an answer to any part of it would be appreciated along with links if possible.............thanks for taking the time to read it.......=]

  1. It's good that you are being realistic about what you can achieve in a short period of time, but afterall this is more a lifestyle thing so you will reach all your goals in the end...

    DIET: Try the 80%/20% approach...eat healthy 80% of the time, and the other 20% let yourself have treats!! Healthy foods that will make you feel better include: fruit, veg, wholegrain cereals pasta rice and bread. Also drink plenty of water! Aim to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day at regular intervals to keep your energy levels up and maximise your metabolism.

    EXERCISE: 4 hours a week is good...all I would suggest is maybe doing some weight/resistance work as well as cardio in order to tone up e.g. squats, press ups etc ... you can get guidelines for these on most fitness sites :). Also maybe use this as an opportunity to have fun and learn something new, take up something like dancing/horse riding/swimming/tennis etc etc with a friend...exercising with friends is a great way to stay motivated, as is picking activities you really enjoy!

    BEAUTY: Moisturise daily!!! Use a body scrub 2 - 3 times a week. For your skin I would suggest getting a cleanser/toner/moisturiser that suit your skin type and using them twice a day. Also use a face mask once a week and a facial exfoliator 1 - 2 times a week. If your skin is very bad and upsets you consider seeing your doctor to get a course of antibiotics to help clear it up :).

    FASHION: If you want a change here I suggest shopping with friends whose opinions you trust/style you like OR book yourself in to take advantage of the FREE personal shopper services a lot of stores offer e.g. Debenhams (see www.debenhams.com for info).
