I would like to build a play pen for my two ferrets and i just wondered if anybody could help me on this with ideas etc? it needs to be fairly big yet fairly easy to make etc...

and it will be kept inside so no digproof materials etc are essential

thanks in anticipation and my apologies if I'm slightly vague,

  1. I have thought of this as well.  Ferrets are wonderful climbers so you would have to have a top on it.  There is a play yard they make for children that is very big--octagonal shaped.  That would be great if you can either put a top on it or cover the sides with something like paneling or plexiglas or something so they can't climb using the holes.  Here is a link to show what the play yard looks like (you can even add more pieces to make it bigger):

  2. Go get some wood  as many pieces to make the pen as big as you want and get some small hinges like the kind for cabinets. 2 hinges per piece of wood and then get some sort of latch like this

ok so put the hinges on all the pieces of wood and then make it whatever shape you want the pin to be in (preferably square or rectangular so they can't climb up the hinged parts

  3. you need really strong cage materials as ferrets are brilliant esapies and can bite threw alsorts. different levels pipes hammocks wooden branches to climb up places for them to dig at or sratch there nails on this way you wont need to clip them anything that you think would be fun for a ferret try not to think what would be fun for you in a cage but them lol i no i ve done it think if i was a ferret i would like this... its hard not to think that way
