Want to do a trip down the nile. should we do a 4 day trip or aweek.

what are the differences please .want to ntake teen boys , oldest one will love it but youngest might find it boring. have any the boats got things to do ,pool table etc.would like to do multi centre to try and get something for everyone. any ideas please.

a 4 day trip is enough so that no one would be bored .

this would be from Luxor to Aswan or Aswan to Luxor .

there is a swimming pool , a deck where you can mix with others , a party is usually held to entertain , etc

the boat makes stops at singificant places for tourists to see.

spend the rest of your vaccation in Cairo / Sharm/Luxor /Aswan .

Ive been for a week - that was a good length of time  but would have preferred a 10 - 14 day cruise.

You will love it, so will the boys and will be enthralled with the goings on along the River Nile. Many of the cruises offer 10 free excursions  which are interesting, however, some may be a little boring (the history talk) theres usually daytime and evening entertainment on the cruise ship. I would advise to go on the Viking ship i ii or iii  they are popular, not at all pompous but are clean, friendly with good food. Usually 60 passengers to a ship. In my opinion a four days cruise is perfect.

The boats are floating hotels, some are five stars and some are four stars.

They have swimming pools, they arrange music and dancing evenings, you will get to know the oriental music which is very nice etc.

Each time the boat reaches an interesting spot, it stops and you visit the place with a professional guide who will explain the place to you.

Dual trip hotel in Luxor & Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan or Cairo. There is plenty to do on the boat but really depends on the type of thing your youngest is into. Maybe a hotel on a complex with animation team may be the best choice, visit Luxor or Cairo, you & the older boy can take in the historic sites while the younger boy chills doing what he enjoys.

Nile cruises are either 5days /4nights (Luxor - Aswan) or 4days/3nights (Aswan-Luxor)

It used to be boring for teens ... You have to check it out with them first

A better idea is to book in an hotel in Luxor for two nights and another two nights in Aswan .... for teens an hotel could be better to spend the time at in case they are not interested to visit ALL the attractions
