Want to get standard PADI Scuba Dive Certification...?

I have been looking for a cheap place to get certified...Does anybody know of a cheap place in the Chicagoland/Southwest Michigan area that does PADI certification for a good price??? Thanks

    you can take an online course and then there's also a search part of this site to find a padi site nearest to you. the one i think i'm gonna end up at is a sport challet, but there are a lot of athletics stores that will help you out. the PADI site will tell you everything, it's helped me a lot. it's not going to be cheap no matter what, but i think eLearning is the cheapest way to go. it's an expensive deal though unfortunately, no matter where you are.


  2. In the Chicago area (NW Indiana and SW Michigan), the pricing for the PADI Open Water Diver course is going to be close to the same.  Find a dive shop that has class schedules that work with you.

    By the way, the e-learning may or may not be the cheapest way.  Even with e-learning, you still have to schedule pool time and open water dives.  With e-leanring, you are just eliminating most of the classroom stuff; however, there still is a final you have to take in front of an instructor.
