Want to go blonde & do it myself (these stylists are inept) but how? I have dark brwn roots, blonde hilights?

not all stylists are inept, just the stylists around me-that's why I wrote "these". I've seen 4 in 7 months and still don't have the desired hair color I asked for. Sorry for the confusion.
