Want to go to grad school but do military service after college

I am 21 yrs old, going to be a senior at Boston College next year and I definitely know I want to go to grad. school. I was wondering if you know of any opportunities provided by the US military (any branch is fine) that pays for grad. school after your active duty is up or if possible.

Moreover, do you know of any great programs that might meet my criteria?

  1. All branches of service offer the GI Bill which pays for schooling.

You might want to talk to recruiters to find out about going into an officer program.  I believe that they pay for your school while you are going and make you an officer when you get out.

    It's worth checking into.

  2. I think the Army actually has a deal with some colleges where you go to a block training program and you get your masters as you go through. It is mixed into some training you go through as you make rank. I don't know the details or if I read it correctly.

  3.   The one that comes to mind is medical school.  Both army and Navy have a program and I know about the navy program but not the army's.   You can enlist in the navy with the intention of attending medical school.  Once you are accepted by a medical school which you have solicted for, the navy will offer you a sabbatical to attend school.  They will pay your school expenses, pay you a stipend while attending school, but require you to serve the navy when not attending classes (summer break, etc.).

Following graduation, you will return to the navy on a full time basis as a commissioned officer, if you are not one already.  You will serve in a medical capacity and complete your residency and internship while fulfilling your six year obligation to the navy for services and expenses rendered.
