What do you think is good combinations of cheese and wines? I know that you can have one piece of cheese that could taste entirerly different with a taste of wine. And should there be like a blan bread or cracker for cleansing the pallat between tastings?

Thank you for any help...

  1. To cleanse the palate, you should have plain water to swish in your mouth and spit out.  There are special "wine" crackers too, that are very plain, with no salt or flavorings to taint your taste buds.   Save the fruit and cheese for eating with wine, after you're done with your tastings.....      I've been to MANY wine tasting parties, dinners given by wineries, and wine seminars & classes in California...     Check out the website for Mr. Stox, a restaurant in Anaheim, California, which is reknowned for it's extensive wine cellar and excellent classes.  You may get some ideas from their newsletter about what foods go with what wines, and different themes....

  2. you might want a natural sharp Cheddar, Gouda, brie..base it on what you like..pair with fruits like figs, grapes and cherries..have a good white wine..I like pinot griogio..sauvignon blanc ..and you could have red also (like a merlot)..i think you should keep everything at high quality but base it on what you like..not what you should do...

for crackers try triscuits, carrs water crackers, black pepper crackers

  3. throw a party with blackjack and hookers.. in fact forget the party and the blackjack....

  4. Here are some websites with info on wine and cheese pairings:
