ps. this is not a scam, just a website thrown together quickly! we all have full time jobs and are involved in other activities so its difficult to efficiently promote the cause.

Link won't run    Most tripod sites don't have www  or wwww  and would end in .tripod.com  I tried http://bri0505.tripod.com  is that you guys?

You'll need nonprofit incorporation and a 501c3 to receipt donations or you'll need a fiscal agent (Church or community organization w/ incorp and 501c3  that will be financially responsible for your group till you have the proper documentation.)   You will also want to offer references etc.  

If the 501c3 is too expensive at least do the incorporation so you are not personally liable for donations as your own income and are not personally liable to be sued if someone does not like stuff you have done.      

13 yrs ago we started a small nonprofit to help ppl in poverty in So Appalachia where we live http://caringhandsmin.tripod.com so I wholeheartedly believe that local ppl working where the problem is offer the best answers.   But there does need to be some validation to let ppl know what you are doing and want to do is real.   Are you guys connected to H.O.M.E.?    Your best support especially at first will probably be drawn from your local area where ppl know you and can check out what you are doing..
