  1. BUGS!  I think a bug theme is cute for little boys.

  2. you could do train tracks across, you can but a foam train to make it look 3d . you should know what he likes in regards to how he react to a kids tv show and base a theme on the bed that way. my daughter was care bears so the connection was rainbows and stars. a boy who likes carebears may perfer the grumpy design or one  of the other boy care bear designs. see how he reacts to glow in the dark or space type stuff. if he like dogs you could give it a puppy theme with a sporty or even a race car dog. the show arthur could give him his favorite animal you could branch off of. if he likes a specific stuffed animal use that theme. precious moments boy pictures could also work out as a theme or head board picture.

  3. the first 2 ideas are pretty awsome too, what about some glow in the dark paint, & pain on the bed & around the room, starts, planets, & maybe get a red paint to make a shooting star across the ceiling, I got the idea from a local childrens hospital my son goes too. They have a neat sky globe that lights up different colors, & theres a button the kids can push, & a red shooting star glides across the cieling. (sorry for any misspelling).

I wish I had that kind of talent, my son would have loved it too.

Also soemthign that you can do too, my son got to do this at a space camp near us was get a black rubber mat, & get glow in the dark finger paints, & let him design it, & put it over his bed too. My son als omade out of foam balls that he painted too, the planets, & hung it from a hanger from the middle of the mat, so it looked 3d. That way your son will know his room is something he too got to help in the desinging, & he'll love it even more, becuase its just for him.

  4. I might suggest picking a theme for the room that can grow with him, like planes trains and automobiles, and have the bed have one of those and than have toys that fit the theme in his room on display. another theme popular with boys is a day at the beach, think sail boats, sand castles etc. Knights of the round table, any thing medieval, and of course dragons!

You can get the idea, the key thing is find some thing he likes and can grow with him to his tweens, unless you like re-decorating rooms all the time....

  5. How about space scenes with planets and comets and rocket ships? Kids love that stuff.
