I just got a new dishwasher standard 24'' dishwasher, there is a space between the counter top and the wall that the dishwasher will fit in. The space is 30" leaving space around the dishwasher. How do i go about this?

I am also wondering about the "air valve" on the sink..is this necessary, I know you need and in and out of hot water. please help.

  1. you'll have to frame it in with whatever you can find  or just live with the space the dishwasher is secured underneath the counter top so you really don't need the side to meet it 'll just look funny. you do need the air valve or air gap it prevents stagnant and posisibly bacteria infested water from backing up onto your clean plates potentially giving you e coli.  but the air gap can be created by making sure the drain line for the dw is higher then the inlet for the drain, this is usually acomplished by tying the drain hose up underneath the cabinet, usually to a sink bracket.

  2. you went to put the dishwasher to the close side to the sink then put a spacer broad beside it . and on top if you need it then you going to have to hookup elec. to it buy a tub for the drin and hook it up in your drin right before the trip hook up fust the hot water to it . make sure you but in a shut off vale so if you have to shut it off you can. that all to it have fun and good luck
