Ok I want to join but I don't want to kill people. Im good with computers and I feel like thats what I would excel at. I am in shape and work out all the time. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me some specific jobs that work with intel and communications.

  1. Well heck, I spent 10-years in the Corps and been in combat for 3-years.  I never was in for the killing either, but defending your comrades and your own skin-you need to choose between life or death.  Marines do not go and seek and destroy, we only have an objective that in many cases are in hostile territory.

There are many computer related fields, to include IT.  But other than that, I wouldn't know.  About 1/3 of the Corps relies on computer savvy Marines since our technological advancement is relied upon these intricate machines.  There are Admin and Personnel MOSs that require computer knowledge.  I was Admin before making my great leap into Force Recon.  So I know that computer expertise exists within our beloved Corps.

  2. First you need to take the A.S.V.A.B test to see if you even qualify for enlistment as well as those job descriptions.  Talk to a recruiter

  3. Well there's  the communication officer in a squadron, you have to report back to the main group about what the enemy is doing.

P.S.   You get paid a lot and you don't have to kill anyone unless your life depends on it....

  4. every marine is a rifleman?? wtf that is the b.s. non-grunts have to tell themselves to make them selves feel better as they check the weather, boil eggs, check e-mails, and guard the motorpool.  ON a serious note though join the army they have better equipment, and more funding.

    M - My

    A - A$$

    R - Rides

    I  -  In

    N -  Navy

    E -  Equipment

  5. You may have a better chance at the IT world in the Army, given the broader spectrum of jobs available outside of combat arms.  I can't remember which MOS it is, but the enlistment is for 6 years and the schooling lasts almost a year.

  6. every Marine is a Rifleman. if you can not see yourself ever wanting to be in a situation that will require you to make the grass grow you should re-think the Marine Corps. if you are that tech savvy i would think about the air force or navy if i were you.

  7. regardless of what you want, the Marine Corps wants killers, if you dont want to be one then dont join.
