  1. Are you in the UK?

If so, the AA: good value, good service

  2. Hey thats an easy one go with the flagship AAA

  3. if i said a certain company then i would probably get a violation for soliciting again,  so i ain`t saying

  4. why don't you try one of the comparison web sites for this??

  5. None of the above.  Your best option is to add a towing and roadside package on your auto insurance.  It's better in the long run.  The cell phone provider type for example has a maximum benefit of $50 and you are responsible for any amount over that at the time of service.  They pay their providers as little as possible, so your wait time is likely to be high.  Others limit the number of calls you can do in a years time.  Most of them won't cover you if you happen to be off road, or if they feel your breakdown was due to a lack of maintenance rather than a true emergency.

  6. AAA is one of the few that do not make you pay and then get reimbursed later. They have two plans, regular and premium, depending on if you live out in the sticks. Many places that do work for them.

  7. Use the comparison websites llike moneysupermarket.com

If you have a upgraded current account at your bank you can get free breakdown cover, mobile phone insurance and travel insurance. It might save you a few £££

  8. I was with Greenflag for a year. Unfortunately, in that year I had to call them out 3 times. When it came to renewing my subscription, they had increased the price by 4x.

The service was poor. They use a "local" garage who would turn up eventually, look bored, do as little as possible, give no feed back so you can have the fault fixed (hence the 3 call outs) and drive off.

I joined the RAC, and the professionalism has been great.

What I like is that they can trace your whereabouts if you break down on an unlit country lane/city at night and you don't know where you are via your mobile phone. This I find reassuring and most mums would too.

Also the policy comes with a £100k insurance policy to defend you in case of an accident. If you do have a collision, it is not unheard of for there to be 18 people in the car,all with whiplash ( trust me, it happened).

I did have cause to call the RAC last week because car wouldn't start. The patrol man was very thorough and tested everything. He found the fault which Greenflag had missed and I now have no problems. I pay £9.75 a month and it is worth every penny.

  9. Well I much prefer the AA...they have many more patrols and seem to arrive much quicker than others...

  10. Your auto insurance company may offer roadside assistance for a nominal fee. Mine does. State Farm, (U.S.)

  11. compare the market.com - you could save a bundle

  12. I would go for the cheapest company because their services are all very similar. Do not believe for the roadside repair service they would rather tow your car to a garage than repair it that way they get commission.

  13. AA are pretty good, you can relay on.

  14. Well it all depends on where you're from.

I actually live in Sydney and work for NRMA. As far as i'm aware, we're the only membership based road service company that i'm aware of. Sure, there's also lube mobile, but they charge ridiculous prices for a one off callout.

  15. Depending on what part of the country you are in!! also check with your cell phone provider... yes those guys as well.... some of them are getting into it as well.... I know that U.S. Celluler where I live has a pretty good plan.... that goes somthing like this.... $2 a month fee, covers up to 4 lock outs of your car a year(if you lock your keys in car), change your flat tire road side, bring you up to 5 gallons of gas if you run out and this is in all 50 US states.... but you should check in your own area for what is best for you!!  Look up Motor clubs.... or even check with your Auto Ins provider, sometimes for a low fee they they can add breakdown insurance on your policy!! Mine only costs 4 bucks a year, but that is basicly for if I need a tow anywhere!

  16. its the best job i've ever heared

  17. I am with Britannia Rescue and more than happy with the service.I have been with Greenflag in the past and they were good too.And i have been in the AA.They run a decent insurance brokers but i wouldnt ever use them as a breakdown service again.

  18. rac, the aa are c**p, greenflag are waste of time
