Hi there, my partner and i have a tidy caravan we hardly use, we would like to tow it to Brittany and leave it there, ideally somewhere cheap like a farmers field so when we go to france for short stays we can use it. Any suggestions? Thanks

  1. I really wouldn't recommend a farmer's field in France. The French are devoted campers/caravanners and there is a "market" in stolen caravans. In this month's Caravan Club magazine there are adverts for storage in the Loire Valley (www. the loirevalley.com   Tel: (0033) 247595494): in Normandy (www. camp-france.com  Tel:(0033) 231228244)

    Brittany - near Roscoff/Morlaix  Tel: (0033) 298673764. email:  www.campingdutregor.com  and Brittany near Quimper Tel: (0033) 298704024. Website: www. campingporsperon.com

All these sites have Engish owners and you don't have to be a member of the Caravan Club to use their facilities.

I hope this may be of help.

5 minutes later!!  I have just looked at the website of camping Pors Peron and its looks really good.

  2. A farmers field sounds pretty risky to me.

I can just see the farmer shrugging his shoulders, "well it was there yesterday"

The trade in thieved caravans is huge on Continental Europe.

Not just tow away opportunists but organised stuff with low loaders and hoists.

Try these people its around  ÃƒÂ‚£5 a week...not a lot to pay for peace of mind
