What plants that deer like will grow in a swampy moss area? Something that has low light. Something that will produce late in the season, and that gives deer a lot of nutrients.

  1. What part of the country are you in?  If you in the midwest or north east USA you can plant the following:

    Herbs:

Bidens frondosa, Eupitorium rugosum, Scutellaria lateriflora, or Solidago flexicaulus.

    Trees:

Green/white ash, sugar maple, silver maple, cottonwood, white cedar, box elder.

    Shrubs:

    Elderberry, Juneberry, ninebark.

All of these plants are native to the midwest/northeast US and will grow in shady wet woodlands.  The problem might be that the deer will browse on them and kill them.  You can get most of these plants through a local native plant nursery.  You could also ask them for further suggestions to what plants might do well in your area.
