Want to live abroad for a year... Where is the best place to do so, where I can easily get a Visa?

I have a 2 year old son and I want to further my education abroad... I want an experience that will be special for me and him. I intend to make this move around his 3rd birthday and live abroad for a year, maybe 2. For my sons sake at this moment I would prefer it be a place where English is widely known, but interested in learning another. Anyone have any good ideas or experiences they would like to share?
