Want to lose weight by going raw/juice fasting... tips?

Hey! I need to lose weight for a bikini shoot. I've found my body responds to weight loss methods of only eating plants/vegan foods, and I'm ready to try a raw food diet with juices to shed extra pounds, plus running.

I wanted to fast for 8 days on juice and then ease into raw foods. Any tips?

  2. Wow.  That sounds pretty unhealthy.  Going without protein and whole grains is never a good idea.  If you are a model and you know ahead of time that you are going to be doing a bikini shoot, then it might be better to just stay in shape instead of starving yourself at the last minute.

  3. With what you need, you may want to google "raw fruit diet" youll find lots of interesting things. FRUITARIANISM is healthy and raw food diet is healthy too despite what some of the above answers claim that it isnt. BUT you need to plan your meals correctly to avoid deficiency.

  4. Erm, I would recommed you doing that.

    Juice fasting and raw food eating should be used strictly for detoxifying and cleansing purposes - not to lose weight.

    If you are planning on going on a juice fast, I certainly hope you are referring to fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juice from a juicer and NOT the sugar-laden c**p that you find at the grocer.

    Try going to www.about.com and type in juice fast. They tell you the proper way to do it, how long it takes and the benefits from it.

    You'll also notice that strenuous exercise is not recommended during a juice fast as you are not consuming solid food - no carbs, no fibre....nothing to give you the fuel your body needs for serious physical activity.

    If I were you, I'd keep working out, drinking water and eating clean. Juice fasting/raw dieting can make you really sick if you do it the wrong way. And you don't want that right before you shoot!

    If you're "imperfect", suggest they airbrush. Everyone is airbrushed these days. :-)

  6. instead try protien shakes this will give you all your nutrients and vitamins and essential amino acids while keeping you full, you will lose fat and not muscle and be flabby, but if you do insist on juicei recommend grapefruit and cranberry dont forget tons of water that way your flushing your kidneys and getting rid of toxins and waste.

  7. Some may be obvious but here:

    Make sure you drink lots of water, eat at least a handful of nuts

    and take vitamins. Thats a bare minimum one thing to think

    about it celery actually has negative calories so that would be

    a good choice of food.

    This isn't the healthiest lifestyle but it wouldn't matter to much

    since you said it's temporary for a photo shoot.
