I want to move to Australia permanently. I want to work and provide for myself once there. Problem is I have no family there. I do have friends but none are in a postition to help. What I am looking for preferable is a work sponsor. I know there are jobs available in my line of work but I need assistance getting there. I do in home health care, and have even been a live in health care provider. I can also do office work, and a bit of carpenter work. There are also some very excellet schools there. Or if I could find a personal sponsor, someone who would be interested in having an American woman as a TEMPORARY houseguest. Does anyone have any ideas? Would great appreciate any help I can get.

  1. Sorry I can't be of any help but I wish you lots of luck! God Bless

  2. Wow you really sound adventurous! If you are under thirty you can get a visa...called youth visa or something. I will look it up in just a sec. I live in both the USA and Sydney and definitely recommend it!

Its a working holiday visa and only available if you are over 18 (and under 30). It would get you here with a legal visa to work then you could find a sponsor more easily.

As far as the living arrangements go you could certainly do the backpacker thing. You could also put an add on Craig's list.

  3. you should be able to find a work sponsor on www.seek.com.au, there are so many jobs from all over the country. You could advertise in the paper 'looking for place to stay' and see how you go, but i think best bet would be stay in a hotel when you get here then look at the ads for people looking for share accommodation, there are lots of those!

  4. Have you checked to see if you are eligible for a Skilled PR Visa ?

Or even try a Working Holiday Visa first, then make contacts that may help in a full visa application later.

To find a "personal sponsor" who you could trust, it would be best to do the Working Holiday Visa, and get to know people here.

I wish you all the luck available, as you sound very keen to get here.

  5. to immigrate to australia you need to be a skilled and experienced worker in a field australia needs, you must also pass a points test

getting an employer to sponsor you is difficult, they have to advertise the position to australians first so can only bring in a foreigner if the job cant be filled,so unless you are very highly skilled no one wants to bother with all the immigration hassle
