Want to make brownies but don't have veg. oil.?

You can also use applesauce!!

I'd use the shortening or butter if you've got it.  The EVOO would impart too strong a flavor.

I would just use BUTTER or MARGERINE

you should use another type of neutral oil such as canola or safflower.  Butter or shortening is solid and room temperature and this difference can mess with the texture of the recipe.

Applesauce is a healthy alternative to oil.  Or when you run out of oil, it works as a substitute.

Also, you could use olive oil, canola oil, or any other kind of oil (NOT CAR OIL), that you have available.
