  1. I can only think of Orioles and Ravens or Inner harbor.Washington DC is less than a hour driving from Baltimore and many more good places to visit.Baltimore is less expensive than Washington DC for the living.

  2. I grew up in Baltimore, and just like any other city there are cheap and expensive places to live. It depends on your age, lifestyle and budget where you might want to live.

If you are young and just starting out, wanting to live in the city itself, the Charles Village and Hamden neighborhoods in the north, or Canton and Highlandtown in the South would be worth checking out. They are relatively cheap and exciting places with lots to do, and plenty of other young and fun people.

If you have a family, you should definitely consider living outside the city in one of the suburbs. Every town has it's own character, drawbacks and positive points.

Just a word of warning, the city can be a confusing place. You can be in a nice area and turn a corner into a very dangerous one. When I was searching for my first place on my own, the most affordable areas had fourteen year olds visibly carrying guns while walking down the street. Always check out your new neighborhood at night before moving in.
