I live in Florida, Orlando specifically and it has always been my dream to have my own bakery. I have been baking for about 15 years and am at my happiest when I have the occasion to bake. My question is, how do I go about opening this kind of business in the Orlando area? What licenses do I need, etc. I would like to begin as a cottage business first. What does that entail?

  1. You can check on cakecentral.com, if you have not already.  There are a lot of experienced cake bakers who may be able to advise you.  We are starting a baking club, but we are in new port richey, fl, which I know does not help you.  You can try to find one in your area and maybe they can advise you as well.  Also, try ices.org.  They may be able to assist in what you are looking for.  Good luck!!!
