My youngest son has been at hsi mothers all summer for visitation. I am suppossed to pick him up at the half-way point between Fort Wayne, IN and Alexandria, VA (about a 5 hour drive). To make a long story short, I want to make the trip alone without my fiance' or my oldest son. I want to have some time alone with my youngest, who is 13 years old, to talk about summer and bond a bit with him, Alone. I am not trying to be mean to anyone, I have just not seen him at all this summer. This is on Sunday and I then have to go back to my hectic work schedule on Monday. My fiance' is mad ant me and is telling me she is going. I just want to be alone and spend some time with him all to myself. Any input would be great.

  1. Explain to her that you just want some father-son time alone with him since you haven't seen him all summer.  Promise her you'll take her out on a date that night (or the following weekend).  If you have the money, maybe you could buy her a pampering day at the spa so she's not feeling quite so left out.
