Im a junior in high school. I've played football for 9 years and have always been very good. This is my second year on varsity and I've been getting recognition from colleges for possible scholarships(mostly Div.II schools). But the truth is I've gotten tired of playing football and am considering quitting. I just don't have a passion for the sport anymore. Problem is my Dad makes me feel guilty and if I quit football the private school I go to will cut my financial aid in half forcing me to get a job to pay the rest of tuition. Any suggestions on what to do?

  1. You've asked this question before.  This means you don't like the answers you got so far, thus you already have an answer in your head.  Just go with what you want to do then.

  2. I highly recommend you to keep football until finish education. You are thinking to choose a riskier life. But it is your choice. You'd better talk with more adults who finished college. You are a selected person in sports. Everybody does not have such a talent.

  3. Hey........If you're getting a free ride into college

    TAKE IT!

    Keep playing football but just ride the bench!

  4. well if you really want to quit then just tell your dad that your played out. public schools (depending on where you live) aren't that bad... well ok they are but you'll get used to em. and if he loves you he'll understand

    and btw most people your age do have jobs already and are paying for their food phone car gas ect...

  5. well if you can stick it out with the next two years that would really be a generous thing to do for your family and you. this way you would save money and wont have to get a job or feel guilty..remember that football season is just a couple months a year and although you probably have practice during summer vacation, the actual season is from september to whenever (depending on if you make it to the playoffs right?) so you have to decide if you find your families finance more important or  if you really have outgrown the sport..good luck

  6. If your heart is no more in the game,QUIT,you'll be miserable if you stay,and will blame your dad if you get hurt

  7. keep doing football because of scholarships. Also get a job. When you're in college, take some courses secretly while doing football. When you're finished, you can either enter the draft or find a job since you have a degree. Keep doing football, but find other things to do also.

  8. If you feel like getting a job is more fun then football, go ahead.

  9. Idk. That's a hard question. If you quit though could could start to miss it after awhile so who knows.

  10. man if your gettin scouted even if it is juss div 2 schools its pretty good but if u really dont like it i say tough this year out explain to your dad next year y u dont wanna do it good luck

  11. About your Dad? You need to sit him down and let him know that it is your life and you may live it however you'd like. If your tired of football, then quit. The coaches should understand, too.

    The financial aid issue? I look at it from this perspective; you're gonna need to get one soon anyways, aren't you? A job builds responsibility, also. So a job isn't a bad idea;

    Hope I helped any =)
