Want to record my lectures,edit them and post them online.Any idea about cheap and best way to do it ?

I just have sony handy cam with me right now.pleas let me know if i have to purchase anything else that enhances the video and audio quality. thanks

If you buy a new mac, it comes with iLife '08 which includes a video program called iMovie. With iMovie you can even directly publish to youtube!

Is it a digital camera?  If so, you can just transfer them directly to your computer.  You might need to buy a cable (I needed firewire).  If it's an older camera, they sell a recorder that you plug your camera into, and then plug the recorder to your computer ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?... ).  

Unless you are buying professional equipment, I don't think you will see enough of a difference to spend extra money.

To actually put the files onto the internet, you can use youtube or teachertube.  You tube has a 10 minute file limit and I'm not sure about teachertube.
