  1. Sure thing.

But it's not as easy as you may think.

You need a die grinder to remove ald gelcoating and fix cracks and flaws with fibergalss.

Then it can be sanded smooth and re-gel coated

  2. If you're going to "paint" it, you'll need to properly prepare the substrate, i.e. the underlying gelcoat.

You'll need a die grinder/angle grinder to feather out the edges of any cracks you have. Any old polyester resin might work to make your repairs, but it's always better to use an epoxy resin like West System if you can afford it. West can be used to make your fiberglass repairs, but can also be thickened with a colloidal silica in order to make a filler. NEVER use an automotive body filler like Bondo in a marine application.

Once you're ready for topcoat, you can either prime and paint, or reapply gelcoat. For paint, Interlux's Brightside Polyurethanes are a simple one-part finish that will work fine for most people. It can be rolled, brushed, or sprayed.

Gelcoat can be a bit tricky, as it requires careful mixing and needs to be sprayed.

  3. the pwc's that we own are not made of fiberglass,  make sure what you have before you looks for repair materials.
