Question:

Want to start shopping for him?

I want to start shopping, but it's hard since everything is offered in every size.

What kinds of things did you dress baby in for 0-3 months? then 3-6? etc...was it pretty much just onesies at first? when did you start putting shoes on him/her?

also, did you get a lot of 0-3 months clothes at your baby shower so you just bought bigger sizes yourself?

any advice is helpful =).

  1. I would get all sizes. That baby is gonna grow like a weed. With my 1st one I had clothes that he never got to wear. And it don't matter what you put on your baby as long as it fits and it's cute. With shoes I never bothered with them until he started walking.

  2. I bought a little of everything, but mostly went to garage sales and consignment shops. Babies only wear things for so long, so most of the clothes there were in good condition. It all depends who comes to your shower and who buys stuff for you. I found that I had a lot of friends that were new moms and realized babies grow fast, so I got a lot of 6-12 month stuff. I mean I still got some newborn clothes but not that much, so I did garage sale shopping for that! Congrats! And just buy what you want :)

  3. 0-3 and 0-6 clothes get used but, they quickly outgrow them, since your due in December it will be cold then, assuming you don't live anywhere that's tropical and warm.I'm already looking and buying clothes that are 6-9 and 9-12 months for my grand daughter and shes due to be here in September. We have cold weather till April here and she will be using those sizes. Under shirts  or tee shirts are always good, either by themselves or under clothes to keep babies warm. Letting babies wear shoes is ok, but I never used them much till they were about six months old. What's important is what type and brand to buy when they begin standing on there own. Striderite high tops are excellant shoes and last a long time and give support to childrens ankles, they cost more than those shoes you buy at walmart or large department stores, but are sure to help support there feet and are very easy to polish and clean, and go almost with any outfits.

  4. Wait until after your baby shower to start shopping. you will be surprised how much you get. at first, just put them in onsies and socks but since you are due in Dec, um, you can buy 1 piece outfits or little sweatpant suits.

  5. Hey there!

Okay, this will be redundant...wait til after your baby shower. You will be surprised how many 0-3 mths you will receive! I've checked my baby register, and see most items purchased have been 0-3 mths, nothing for 12 mths! I'm anxious to start buying for my little Jr, but I'm holding out til after the baby shower. My baby will be due during the winter also, and with it being cold here, I know we'll be investing in sweat/jogger outfits, and onesies when he's in the house. Everyone continues to tell me not to invest so much in clothing when they're newborn, they grow too fast to wear it all!

My girlfriend's baby is 4 mths...wearing a 9 mths! You never know how fast (or slow) your baby will grow, hold on to your dollar bills until after you see your inventory of gifts!

Many blessings to you during your blessed journey! You might just have a Christmas baby!

  6. It's hard but just wait for your baby shower. People go overboard with the 0-3 and 3-6 month stuff. So hang out and then you can shop for what you need, and not just throw away money on things the baby will outgrow as soon as you blink.

  7. I only bought my son's coming home outfit...a little onesie with the cap, a undershirts, booties, mits for his little hands so he doesn't scratch himself. Everything else I bought is 6-12 months because I am sure for my shower even though I did a registry people will buy other outfits that are 0-3 or 3-6 months. The newborn things I know everyone says wont fit very long. I also bought anything that is under $10 and put everything else on the registry just because we were soooo anxious to start lol. I am still trying to refrain from buying anything else because my shower is in 5 weeks :) Since it will be cold I did buy little fleece lines onesies from the gap as well. good luck!!!
