  1. rubbermaid containers (the 18 gallon 4.00 ones) if you are putting it in a damp basement try to get a wood pallet or some bricks so that air can get under the containers so they are not just sitting in a puddle.

  2. Try putting them into large ziplock/vacuum-sealed bags. Or you could put them into plastic bins/containers that have lids that snap on tightly.

  3. Depends on how they're getting damp and what they are. If it's because they're sitting on a concrete floor in a basement, you'll have to put the things in plastic bags or boxes but unless the things are perfectly dry when you do that, the problem will only get worse.

  4. It is next to impossible.  You can try all kinds of packaging, but depending on what they are, the temperature can also damage them. Too cold or too hot can be detrimental.  It does depend on what you got, but keep the temperature thing in mind no matter what you do.

  5. Vacuume seal them in thos plastic bags then store them in a rubbermaid container.
