Want to study nursing in the philippines?

yah im a u.s citizen

and im currently on the nursing waiting list till fall of 2009, then 3 more yrs of school.

cant wait that long, if i go to nursing school in the philippines i would finish earlier.

so i just want to know the process. ??

& can the professors speak english??

    Of course, they can!! Here in the philippines,almost all of the subjects are taught in english.

If you study outside the US and wish to practice your profession here, you need to verify that the programs are credentialed in the US, and you will still need to pass all of your licensing exams. The Philippines has a good reputation for nursing largely because there are so many of them that they give good bedside care to patients.  That does not mean the courses & qualifications are the same.

    If you are eager to begin your career, why not study for an LPN in the US to start, get your license & job, and some hospitals will pay (at least part) for the additional courses required to get an RN or BSN.  You could probably start an LPN program at a community college this summer or fall, and that's faster than you can get into a school in Philippines and deal with visas and all.
