I'm 15. I like mostly everything. I like most high school stories, and like supernatural stuff as well. i'm not very big on high school romance. (Unless it's actually good.)

If you say gossip girl, the clique series, or anything else that involves spoiled brats in a boarding school I will hitchhike to your house and slap you.

If you want me to add more, Just ask. :)

    The Night Land

    by William Hope Hodgson

[O]ne of the strangest visions ever published in science fiction or fantasy is presented. The Sun has gone out: the Earth is lit only by the glow of residual vulcanism. The last few millions of the human race are gathered together in a gigantic metal pyramid, the Last Redoubt, probably the first arcology in literature, under siege from unknown forces and Powers outside in the dark. These are held back by a Circle of energy, known as the "air clog," powered from the Earth's internal energy. For millennia, vast living shapes - the Watchers - have waited in the darkness near the pyramid: it is thought they are waiting for the inevitable time when the Circle's power finally weakens and dies. Other living things have been seen in the darkness beyond, some of unknown origins, and others that may once have been human.¡ª Excerpted from The Night Land on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

  6. If you like supernatural/fantasy books, you might like

Harry Potter - JK Rowling (about witches and wizards)

Twilight Series -Stephanie Meyer (about vampires)

Cirque Du Freak - Darren Shan (about vampires)

Maximum Ride - James Patterson (about kids who can fly)

And for high school books, you might like The Princess Diaries Series (I know it sounds really dumb - I thought it would be too, but I fell in love with it). Also, Sarah Dessen writes really good young adult stories about girls in high school.

Oh, and I totally get what you mean when you say that you hate the Gossip Girl series. Seriously, people gossip enough in real life, why do they have to read about it too?

    X-D

  7. Read Saving Zoe, i'm not sure if you would call it a romance or not, i guess it kind of is, but it is also about a girl, trying to get closer to her sister, who died, by reading her diary. Don't worry i didn't give anything away bye telling you that, it says that on the back of the book. this book is amazing =]

  8. The other day I read 19 minutes by Jodi Picoult. I'm 16 and all I can say is I'm collecting her books.

  9. I would definitely recommend Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funkt.  You might also consider the Eragon Trilogy (the book was better than the movie) and the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.  Also, although adult fantasy, I think you might enjoy Poison Study, Magic Study and Fire Study by Maria V. Snyder.

    Enjoy!

  10. Sounds like you have those books (which shall not be mentioned) memorized....  Have you read anything by Anne McCaffrey?  She wrote a number of science fiction novels about the dragons of Pern, both easy reads and the big fat long ones.
