  1. This is not an answer to your question, but is related to it.

In the May/June 2008 edition of "Psoriasis Advance", the monthly publication of the National Psoriasis Foundation (U.S.A.) there is a short article about the effectiveness - or lack thereof - of turmeric.

The conclusion is that "Oral curcumin (turmeric) should not be recommended for the treatment of psoriasis given lack of proven efficacy." The corresponding research report is published in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Some time ago after hearing about the possible effectiveness of turmeric I tried it myself, but nothing happened, confirming the above conclusion.

If you still want to to try it, why don't you contact the NPF at <getinfo@psoriasis.org>? Or go to the web site <www.psoriasis.org>.

    Good luck!

  2. Tumeric is a natural product found in nature and has been used for thousands of years to spice foods and cure ailments.

As Hi y'all pointed out, there is lacking evidence to support medical claims but, there is also lack of 'scientific' evidence to support that herbs and spices along with other natural products such as the food we eat, have healing powers when history tells us otherwise.

The reason you will not find 'scientific evidence' is because those disputing such claims will not spend the billlions of dollars pharmacy companies do on the research. There is not a financial benefit to them as natural products cannot be patented like drugs and therefore won't make anyone any money.

The pharmaceutical industry want to keep us believing that only their medications will heal and cure, so they can keep you buying their product. they are also the first to shut down claims from natural remedies with cleverly worded and marketed campaigns.

study and research natural remedies. you will find millions of people living healthy natural lives without drugs. and curing all kinds of ills with healthy foods and natural herbs and spices.

You can get off all your prescription meds by changing your diet. learning your body and thinking different.

    I have done it....

  3. Turmeric (also called curcumin and haldi) is a yellow spice typically used in Indian cooking. My wife is Indian and I eat the stuff in food all the time. I never heard of it having any interaction with anything.

It may also have some medicinal properties

According to this web site, research has show it may cause liver damage in animals when taken in large doses but there is no report of this happening in people. It may aggravate gall bladder problems in people who have this type of disease.
