I want to become a musician... hopefully a famous one. :] Does anyone know of any programs that are free (like online) that are for beginners and could help me get started? I'm 13, and I've played piano for almost 7 years. I have an electric keyboard and a real piano. I know that could somewhat help since I want to write songs. I just don't know quite where to start!!!

:]

  1. i suggest you go to http://www.justinguitar.com - a site that has everything that you need to know about guitars. or buy the book "The Complete Billboard Illustrated Guitar Handbook" which also does the same thing.

Well if you're new i suggest you could start by learning the chords and chord progression. once you get it. play playing some rhythm songs, and try to get used to it. After learning rhythm guitar try to switch to lead guitaring. Which can be done by learning to improvise solos. try to learn the scales so that you could learn to improvise. and lastly practice. practice could help you improve and become the good musician you want to be!

  2. Go to a guitar shop and buy some books. I am assuming you read music since you've been playing piano so long. I also played piano for 3 years and read music before I played guitar, and that helped me A LOT!!! Also, try this site:
